CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to PJ McGowan on his Hole in One.
Our Club Secretary Mr PJ McGowan had a Hole in One on the second hole at B&S GC on Tue 5th Sept.
132 yards to the pin, into a stiff breeze, PJ withdrew his 9,iron from Golf bag but had second thoughts. Went back to bag and gently slipped out the glorious pitching wedge.
Lined himself up for a slender draw and with a flick of the wrist, sent the ball on its way and in two shakes of a lambs tail, it landed on the green like a midge with sore feet, one bounce, checked up and rolled beautifully into the hole.

33rd President of B&S GC praises forefathers of Club
Mr John Bradley, 33rd President of Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club give high praise of the forefathers of the club, in particular Mr Paddy Carr and Mr Paddy Murphy. He praised the two captains of the club Bernard and Kaye and the council of the club for all their hard work throughout the year. To all the volunteers who do tremendous work and never look for praise or rewards. He was very grateful to all the members who support the club week in and week out.
The president himself done a huge amount of good work around the club and indeed stepped in and took up the role of Junior Convenor putting in a lot of time and energy to JUNIOR GOLF which is very close to his own heart.
A great night was had by all who attended and there was a lot of eating, singing and dancing done and I have to say a great nights craic.
The presidents prize was won by local man Seamus Lafferty, a very worthy and popular winner and the lady's prize was won by Mrs Kathleen McGowan.

The Lady Captain's outing to Fintona took place on Saturday the 16th September, the weather was not kind and just 9 holes were played. There was a very good turnout of 34 ladies who used the extra time well. After play when all got dried out and changed, a lovely meal was enjoyed followed by Bridie's music and everyone danced the evening away, the rain soon forgotten, it turned out to be a very enjoyable outing. The format was 4BBB the best score was returned by Karen O'Meara and Ita Ward, Next was Darragh McGowan & Heather Fleming, 3rd Brid McMenamin & Brenda Crawford, 4th Deirdre Kelly & Pat McCaughan.
Ballybofey & Stranorlar Ladies travelled to Ballina, Co. Mayo to compete in the Revive Active Sponsored National Competition. They competed in the Regional finals against Portumna. At this point 44 teams in the Connaght Regions was whittled down to the last two and overall the last 8 in the Country. The conditions were pretty terrible with torrential showers and the course was so wet that 6" placing was allowed everywhere, even in the rough and the bunkers were out of paly. Despite the conditions the B& S ladies fought hard against the opposition. Five pairs competed in 4BBB format. One pair won on the 18th, whilst another pair lost on the 17th and then the 3rd pair were called in when all square after 17 and then unfortunately it was all over because of 2 earlier losses. All told it was a close contest against a very strong Portumna team. In her speech Eileen Reilly thanked her players, the Sponsors Revive Active and the many supporters who travelled all the way to Ballina. The players were presented with a Sliver Medal and Revive Active products. The team were Darragh McGowan & Mary McHugh, Dolores Devaney and Deirdre Duncan, Margaret McConnell & Karen O'Meara, Ann Sweeney & Sharon Maloney and Ann Glancy and Deirdre Kelly.
